PLENTY OF SUNSHINE TODAY AND TURNING WARMER….
As the upper trough moves away from the region, an upper level
ridge is building in leading to the advection of a warmer, and
eventually more humid air mass over the next 2-3 days. Today has
featured plenty of sunshine, however a band of high thin cirrus
clouds has been encroaching on the area this afternoon. This is
the leading edge of the aforementioned warmer air mass.
Temperatures have warmed quite a bit today, reaching the upper
70s to near 80. So far the dew point has remained in the 40s today,
so it doesn’t feel too bad out there at all.
The wind has been generally on the light side today, starting the
day out of the north-northwest, but has become more variable this
afternoon. The average speed for the day so far is around 7mph.
The peak gust, which occurred around 1pm, is 16mph.
Visibility has been quite decent today, dipping a bit early this
afternoon from 70 miles to 60 miles.
The maximum temperature for today is 79F degrees, which is 8 degrees
above the normal high of 71F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 50F degrees, which is 4 degrees below the normal low of 54F.
