DAY 2 OF THE HEATWAVE BRINGS RECORD TEMPERATURES TO BLUE HILL….

Today marked the 2nd day of the heatwave that has encompassed
the region this week. Record breaking warmth was observed today.

The low temperature this morning was 73F degrees, if this holds
until midnight tonight, this will set a new record high minimum
for the date, breaking the old record of 71F set in 1999.

We did officially record a new record high for the day with 95F
degrees, this beat the old record of 94F degrees set in 1933!

In addition to the high heat, oppressive humidity levels have
also been experienced. The dew point, once again today, has
been in the low to mid 70s all day. This allowed the heat index,
or the feels like temperature, to exceed 100F for a time.

The high temperature of 95F today is 16 degrees above the
normal maximum of 79F. The low temperature so far today is
73F, which is 12 degrees above the normal minimum of 61F.

As of yesterday June 28th, the month of June is ranking as
the warmest on record with a 24-Hour adjusted mean of
69.1F. We’ll likely hang on to 1st place with tomorrow expected
to be another very warm day to close out the month. Here is
the list of current rankings via our Chief Scientist Mike Iacono…

BHO Warmest June 24-Hour Adjusted Mean Temperature, deg F (1885-2020):

1) 69.1 in 2021 (through the 28th)
