STILL CAN’T SHAKE THE CLOUDS, BUT A BIT MILDER TODAY…

Clouds have generally dominated the sky again today, with a
few breaks of sun here and there. Showers have popped up in
the unstable atmosphere off to the north and northwest. These
could be seen over the Boston area at the 1pm observation.
A brief shower did make it to the Hill after the 1pm observation.

Temperatures are a bit milder today than the past couple of days
with readings briefly reaching the low 70s late this morning.
The dew point has been sitting in the mid 50s, so it’s still a
comfortable feeling humidity-wise.

The wind has been on the light side once again today, with an
average speed of only around 7mph. The highest gust so far today
has only been around 20mph. We’re really starting to sound like
a broken record these days!

Visibility was decent most of the day. The view was limited to
around 30 miles early due to some lifting ground fog, but quickly
improved to around 60 miles by mid to late morning. It did slip
a bit early this afternoon to 50 miles and locally lower. This
was due to the scattered rain showers in the area.

The high temperature so far today is 71F, which is 6 degrees
below the normal maximum of 77F. The low since midnight is 53F,
this is 6 degrees below the normal minimum of 59F.
