HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS CONTINUE WITH INCREASING CLOUDS….

Mainly sunny skies this morning have become mainly cloudy with
only a few breaks by this afternoon. Regardless, it’s still
quite hot and humid out there having reached 90F degrees again
for the 10th time this summer already. We only had a total of 10
such days for all of 2024!

As mentioned, temperatures have reached the low to mid 90s early
this afternoon after an overnight temperature that only fell to
73F. With the dew point in the low to mid 70s, the heat index has
been pushing, and even exceeding 100F degrees today. Today should
be the last day of this level of heat for several days. Humidity
levels however will likely remain on the high side through the
rest of the week at least.

The wind has been lighter today for the most part, but did
increase a bit this afternoon over the levels this morning. A
mainly westerly wind has been averaging at around 9mph for the
day so far. Gusts have picked up a bit from time to time, with
two distinct periods of more frequent and stronger gusts occurring
back in the wee hours of this morning, and again this afternoon.
The peak gust so far for the day is 22mph, occurring just after
2:30pm this afternoon.

Visibility has improved a bit from around 20 miles early this
morning to around 50 miles by early this afternoon.

The maximum temperature so far today is 94F degrees, which is
13 degrees above the normal high of 81F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 73F degrees, which is 10 degrees above the
normal low of 63F.
