BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

TUESDAY, JULY 14, 2020
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

A BIT LESS WARM TODAY, BUT STILL HUMID…

A thunderstorm developed over the Boston area
this morning and moved offshore, however the
outflow from this storm helped to develop and
maintain a sea-breeze today which has helped to
keep temperatures a bit cooler.

Despite the cooler temperatures, dew points have
remained in the mid to upper 60s, thus keeping
the humid feel in the air.

So far we haven’t had a thunderstorm here at
Blue Hill, but we have observed quite a few of
them all around us through the day. This has
afforded us some pretty neat cloud observing,
including a couple of cumulonimbus with anvils!

The high so far today is 78 degrees, this is
3 degrees below the daily normal high of 81F.
The low since midnight is 66F, which is 3
degrees above the daily normal low of 63F.
