WARM AND VERY HUMID WITH A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS TODAY….
Clouds were more dominant this morning, but more breaks of sun
have developed early this afternoon. It is once again another
warm and very humid day as this air mass gets advected into
the area by a gusty southwest breeze.
Temperatures have warmed into the mid 80s by early this afternoon.
The dew point has been on the rise as well, from the low 70s early
this morning to the oppressive mid 70s by early this afternoon.
This combination of temperature and dew point is creating heat
index values into the low to mid 90s!
The wind has been busy today, averaging at around 13mph out of
the southwest. Gusts have been frequently exceeding 25mph, with a
peak gust so far of 35mph, which occurred just before 11am this
morning.
Visibility is somewhat limited, due to fog early this morning, and
then haziness thereafter. The view has generally been between
25-40 miles most of the day, however it was quite limited very
early this morning when we were in the clouds, generally around
1/8th of a mile.
The maximum temperature for today is 86F degrees, which is 6 degrees
above the normal high of 80F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 68F degrees, which is 6 degrees above the normal low of 62F.
