ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)

BLUSTERY AND COLD WITH A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS….
Skies started the day on the clear side, however low and mid level
clouds started rotating down from the north and northwest by the mid
morning hours, becoming fairly dominant early this afternoon. There
has also been virga observed at various times during the day, but
some very light snow shower activity has finally reached the area
just prior to the 1pm observation.
Temperatures are cold, even for January standards as readings are
below normal for the date. We started the day in the low teens, and
have only recovered to the low to mid 20s by early this afternoon.
The dew point was holding in the mid single digits most of the day,
but has risen to near 10F early this afternoon due to the snow shower
activity.
Winds are quite gusty today mainly out of the northwest. The average
speed for the day so far is around 18mph. Frequent gusts over 30mph
have been observed today, with a peak gust so far of 43mph occurring
at 11:30am.
Visibility has been decent today with the view generally between
40-60 miles today, except where it’s reduced early this afternoon
due to snow showers.
The maximum temperature for today is 23F degrees, which is 12 degrees
below the normal high of 35F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 11F degrees, which is 8 degrees below the normal low of 19F.
