SUNSHINE RETURNS, BUT STILL QUITE COLD….
Much to the excitement of many, the sun has finally returned
after a one week hiatus, However it’s visit promises to be brief
as clouds move back in tonight and tomorrow looks to be
another gloomy day.
Despite the bright sunshine today it’s still rather cold. The
temperature has been gradually working its way through the
20s after bottoming out this morning at 12F degrees. As a
matter of fact, the low this morning is the coldest we’ve
recorded so far this winter season.
On the plus side, the wind has been quite light today, only
averaging around 9mph for the day, although speeds have been
mostly under 5mph so far this afternoon.
Visibility has been excellent today within the arctic air
mass with 80 miles being observed.
The high so far today is 27F, which is 9 degrees below the
normal high of 36F. The low since midnight is 12F, which is
8 degrees below the normal low of 20F.
Here are some interesting December and Annual rankings per our
Chief Scientist Mike Iacono! December tied for tenth
warmest and 2021 tied for fifth warmest year.
