MODERATE SNOWFALL YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING…
Once the precipitation changed to snow yesterday afternoon,
it came down pretty good at times, amounting to 4.1″ by the
time it ended last evening. This is the biggest snowfall of
the season thus far. The monthly total is now up to 11.3″,
and the seasonal total is now 14.0″. Both of which are still
below normal of course, -2.0″ and -14.4″ respectively.
Today has been dry and chilly with even a splash of sunshine
this morning. Unfortunately the clouds are once again
dominating the sky.
Temperatures have only managed to reach the low to mid 30s
here on the summit. With a brisk westerly wind, the wind chill
has been in the 20s all day. Definitely a chilly feeling day.
The wind has been mainly westerly so far today, with an average
speed for the day around 14mph.
The high so far today is 34F, which is equal to the normal
maximum of 34F. The low since midnight is 25F, which is 8
degrees above the normal minimum of 17F.
