PLENTY OF SUNSHINE TODAY, BUT WINDY AND COLDER….

It’s a beautiful sunny day as long as you’re just looking out the
window! Going outside offers one a blustery cold experience with wind
chill values stuck in the teens to lower 20s! Not the most pleasant
conditions out there.

Temperatures are on the cold side today with readings reaching the
low 30s by early this afternoon. This is a bit below normal for this
time of year. The dew point has been dropping off a bit however, with
values slipping from the mid teens to the lower teens, indicative of
yet another arctic air mass overtaking the region.

Winds have picked up once again after being generally on the light
side yesterday. The average speed for the day so far is around 15mph
out of mainly the west-northwest. Gusts have ramped up during the
mid to late morning period with values over 30mph being common. The
peak gust for the day so far is 38mph, which occurred right at 11:30am
this morning.

Visibility has been gradually improving through the day, starting at
around 40 miles early this morning, but reaching around 60 miles by
early this afternoon.

The maximum temperature for today is 32F degrees, which is 2 degrees
below the normal high of 34F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 23F degrees, which is 5 degrees above the normal low of 18F.
