CLOUDY SKIES THIS MORNING BREAKING TO PARTIAL SUNSHINE THIS
AFTERNOON….

As the circulation of the large ocean storm off the Canadian
Maritimes expanded west, ocean clouds overspread the region
late yesterday afternoon and evening. These clouds have stuck
around through today with some breaks finally reaching the
area by early this afternoon. Snow showers and flurries have
been occurring across parts of southeastern Mass, but none
have been observed here at Blue Hill.

Temperatures have been slowly rising from the mid 20s early
this morning to the mid 30s by early this afternoon. With a
stiff north to northeast wind, it does feel rather chilly out
there however.

As mentioned, the wind has been on the gusty side. It’s been
averaging at around 11mph out of the north and northeast. The
highest gust so far occurred just after the 10am observation
with a value of 26mph.

Visibility has been excellent today with a view of 70-80 miles.

The maximum temperature so far today is 34F degrees, which is
1 degree below the normal high of 35F. The minimum temperature
so far since midnight is 26F degrees, which is 8 degrees above
the normal low of 18F.
