ANOTHER COLD DAY WITH A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS….

Skies started the day off clear, but a layer of stratocumulus did
overtake the sky for a few hours this morning before moving out.
As we moved into the early afternoon hours, sunshine is once again
in control, but it’s not doing much to warm things up today.

Temperatures were the coldest we’ve seen so far this season early
this morning with a low of 20F. Readings have risen into the mid
30s by early this afternoon. Another day with temperatures solidly
below normal. The dew point has been falling off since this morning
with values briefly getting to 20F before dropping back into the
teens. The air mass is quite dry for sure.

Winds started the day on the lighter side, but have increased as we
push through the early afternoon. The average speed for the day so
far is around 9mph, mainly out of the northwest. The peak gust for
the day so far is 21mph at 10:24am.

Visibility was a bit limited early this morning with pollution
trapped under an inversion, but the view quickly jumped to 80 miles
by mid morning and has been holding at that value since.

The maximum temperature for today is 36F degrees, which is 8 degrees
below the normal high of 44F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 20F degrees, which is 9 degrees below the normal low of 29F.
