COMPLETE UNDERCAST THIS MORNING, NOW LIFTING EARLY THIS AFTERNOON….
We were treated to a complete undercast this morning, which actually
lasted all morning. It’s not often we get to see an undercast here,
but its even more rare for one to last for several hours. We had
sunshine for a time this morning, but now as the undercast is lifting,
we are in the clouds early this afternoon with very low visibility.
The temperature has warmed into the mid 40s early this afternoon,
which is still above normal for the date.
The wind continues to be quite light with an average speed so far
for the day of around 4-5mph. The direction has been rather variable,
but is trying to come mainly from a southerly direction. The peak
gust, if you want to call it that, to this point has only been around
11mph, which occurred right around 9:30am this morning.
Visibility has been variable today as the top of the undercast did
attempt to lift a bit during the mid morning hours. It has been as
low as 1/16 of a mile, but as much as 40 miles (above the undercast).
Now early this afternoon we’re in the clouds (fog) and it’s back
down to around 1/4 of a mile.
The maximum temperature so far today is 47F degrees, this is 9
degrees above the normal high of 38F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 32F degrees, this is 10 degrees above the normal low
of 22F.
