HIGH CLOUDS THIS MORNING GIVE WAY TO SUNSHINE THIS AFTERNOON….

Some passing mainly high level clouds were the rule this morning,
but these have now pushed off to the south early this afternoon
leaving us with abundant sunshine. Temperatures are once again on
the mild side with readings again in the upper 40s and low 50s
across the region. Certainly can’t beat this in mid December!

The air has dried out quite a bit this afternoon as the dew point
has dropped into the upper teens and low 20s after spending the
morning in the upper 20s.

Visibility started off a bit limited due to haziness early this
morning, but has recovered nicely with 70 miles being observed
since mid morning.

Winds have been generally on the light side today, especially
when compared to recent days. The average has been around 10-12
mph since 7 A.M. The peak gust occurred in the wee hours of this
morning with a value of 31 mph being measured just after 1:30 A.M.

The high so far today is 50F, which is 9 degrees above the normal
max of 41F. The low since midnight is 37F, which 12 degrees above
the normal low of 25F.
