BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA
DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
TUESDAY, AUGUST 5, 2014
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
HEAT AND HUMIDITY MAKE A RETURN FOR TUESDAY,
WITH HAZE AND POOR VISIBILITY
Hazy skies have prevented many views beyond 20 miles today,
with limits to visibility down to 12 miles in most directions
for the 7:00 AM EST observation this morning.
A moderating trend in temperature has continued today with
a maximum of 86F by the 1:00 PM EST observation. While there
were showers present in the region yesterday, most were
isolated and north and west of the station.
Some cirrostratus has been visible to our south and east
this morning as well, only hinting at the turbulent skies
associated with Tropical Storm Bertha, which will pass
well off shore tomorrow morning.
