MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
TUESDAY, AUGUST 22, 2017
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

HOT, HUMID, AND HAZY DAY

It has been very hot and humid at Great Blue Hill today,
with a maximum temperature of 87F reached so far. This
is 8F above the average high temperature for August 22nd.
Dew points have remained in the upper 60s to low 70s, and
as a result visibility has been very poor near 25 miles
at its best this afternoon. Earlier this morning, fog limited
visibility to just 2 miles at the 7:00 A.M. EST observation.
By afternoon, the wind started to pick up, and a peak gust
of 26 MPH out of the SSW was measured today at 12:53 P.M.
The pressure has been falling for the past few hours, and
as a cold front approaches, building cumulus suggest the
showers and thunderstorms that may occur in the region
later tonight.
