INCREASING CLOUDS AND COOLER WITH AN ONSHORE WIND….

Mainly sunny skies this morning have given way to mainly cloudy
skies this afternoon as a coastal low gets going south of
Nantucket today. The combination of an onshore flow and the
increase in clouds have held temperatures in the mid-upper 70s
today. Certainly a very nice change from the mid to upper 90s
that was occurring this time last week!

The dew point has also remained within comfortable levels,
albeit a bit higher than yesterday. Its been generally holding
in the mid to upper 50s.

Visibility has been excellent all day once again today as we’re
able to see 70-80 miles!

The onshore flow has been increasing as the day progresses with
an average speed around 10mph. A peak gust of 28mph has been
observed so far.

Most of the Boston Area remains under extreme drought conditions
according to the National Drought Monitor. Total rain deficit on the
year is 11.07 inches below normal.

The high so far today is 77F, which is 3 degrees below the normal
maximum of 80F. The low since midnight is 61F, which is 2 degrees
below the normal minimum of 63F.
