ALMOST A CARBON COPY OF YESTERDAY, A CLEAR START THEN BUILDING
CONVECTIVE CLOUDS BY EARLY THIS AFTERNOON….
The great weather continues with refreshingly low humidity levels
and very comfortable temperatures. Skies were clear to start
the day, but cumulus clouds have developed with diurnal heating
doing its thing. Some cirrus clouds have been observed also well
off to the south. One thing that is different today is a thin
smoke layer aloft that has overspread the area, likely from wild
fires out near the West Coast.
Temperatures started the day in the upper 50s, but have warmed
nicely into the upper 70s early this afternoon. The dew point has
been holding in the upper 50s all day making for another very
pleasant day to be outdoors.
The wind was gusty early this morning, but diminished during the
course of the morning, becoming light at times. It has been
trying to pick up a bit early this afternoon, but mainly in the
form of occasional gusts of 15-20mph. The average speed for the
day so far is around 10mph. The peak gust so far for the day is
22mph, which occurred just after 2am this morning.
Visibility has been great, with a view of 60-70 miles all day!
The maximum temperature so far today is 78F, which is 3 degrees
below the normal high of 81F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 58F, which is 5 degrees below the normal low of 63F.
