GORGEOUS, FALL-LIKE WEATHER ATOP GREAT BLUE HILL….
Today featured incredibly pleasant weather with dew points
dropping into the mid 40’s and a cool westerly breeze. Wind
is almost 20 mph on average with the highest gust around 30 mph
so far.
Skies are partly cloudy and visibility increased from 70 miles
this morning to 80 miles by the 1 P.M. observation. This is
weather typical for fall to start off the first day of
meteorological fall.
The summit continues to have a rainfall deficit, with
1.41″ below normal for August, and an annual deficit of 10.92″!
Most of the Boston area remains under extreme drought conditions.
But the drought has eased up a bit to our south and east.
August 2022 will go down as the 2nd warmest on record here at Blue
