A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS WITH WARMER THAN NORMAL TEMPERATURES….
Skies started the day mainly clear with a few mid and upper level
clouds around. As we moved through the early afternoon hours, mainly
diurnal convective (cumulus) clouds have developed creating an
interplay between them and the sun.
Temperatures have warmed into the low 70s, which is above normal
for this time of year. The dew point is once again holding in the
mid 50s, so it’s a rather plesant fall day out there.
The wind has been rather light, and somewhat variable, although
the prevailing direction for the day so far is southwest. The
average speed for the day so far is only around 5mph. The peak
gust so far is 14mph, which occurred just after 10am this morning.
Visibility has been holding at around 30-40 miles all day with
thin fog the obscuration early this morning, and just general
haziness thereafter.
The maximum temperature so far today is 72F, which is 6 degrees
above the normal high of 66F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 52F, which is 3 degrees above the normal low of 49F.
