HEAVY RAIN AND STRONG WINDS OVERNIGHT BRING
1.58 INCHES OF NEW RAIN AND 60 MPH GUSTS

Light rain showers that began yesterday afternoon
slowly picked up in intensity through the evening, with
0.65 inches recorded by midnight on the ASOS system.
Winds picked up in intensity during the evening and
early morning hours as well, with winds hitting a peak
of 60 MPH according to three different anemometers, and
53 MPH twice on the official station anemometer. Winds
were sustained at times near 40 MPH during the evening
bringing down wet leaves and small branches throughout
the Blue Hills.

Temperatures climbed through the evening as well, hitting
yesterday’s maximum temperature of 64F at midnight.
Temperatures were still climbing this morning as rain showers
and fog came to an end. By the 1:00 PM EST observation
sunshine was plentiful under gusty WSW winds. A maximum
temperature of 72F had been reached, just 2 degrees below
today’s daily record.
