FAIR WEATHER, YET MILDER ATOP GREAT BLUE HILL….
Today we observed 85 miles of visibility on average,
as dew points plummeted into the mid 40’s. The weather
was comfortable with a cool northwesterly breeze around
15 mph on average. The max gust so far today is 27 mph.
Cloud cover was almost nonexistent today, a great contrast
to the past 4 days!
The drought monitor shows great improvement as most
areas of Massachusetts are reaching normality with the
rainfall this month. There is still a moderate drought in the
Boston area and a severe drought in most of Essex county.
Monthly rain total is 5.69 inches, which shows a 1.10 inch
surplus on the month. On the year, our total is 33.68 inches.
This gives us a deficit of 9.58 inches so far this year.
The high so far today is 66F, which is 10 degrees above the
normal maximum of 56F. The low since midnight is 55F, which
is 16 degrees above the normal low of 39F.
