NOR’EASTER BRINGS OVER 4 INCHES OF RAIN AND
WINDS GUSTING NEAR 60 MPH, PRECIP RECORDS BROKEN
Driving rains that entered the region last evening
last through early this morning bringing 4.88 inches
from 7:00 AM EST yesterday through 7:00 AM EST today
in our standard gauge rain gauge. ASOS measured a whopping
5.04, appearing to be the highest total in the region
during that time frame.
While our measurement of 4.88 is still preliminary at this
time, it is likely to break both daily precipitation records
for both yesterday and today. Below are the old records set
in 1898 and 1956 respectively. Official measurements will be
available in the coming days.
