HAPPY THANKSGIVING! BAROMETER CLIMBS TO NEAR
RECORD HIGH, SEA LEVEL PRESSURE APPROACHES 30.88 INCHES
An area of high pressure just offshore has increased in
strength since yesterday when barometer readings at the
station were already at very high levels. A preliminary
reading using our mercury barometer indicated a maximum
sea level pressure reading of 30.876 inches last evening.
Our station record is 31.08 inches set back in 1981.
Clouds that built overnight have diminished this morning
to reveal mostly sunny conditions. Visibility has been
limited for most of the morning with high levels of
humidity present and thin fog.
