…HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM BLUE HILL OBSERVATORY…
CLOUDS INCREASING WITH MUCH MILDER AIR AND LIGHT WIND….

Clouds have been on the increase most of the day as a weather system
gradually approaches from the west and promises to bring us some wet
weather late tonight into tomorrow morning. Regardless, with
temperatures rising into the low-mid 50s this afternoon, it has been
a very pleasant holiday for the region.

The air remains dry with the dew point rising through the mid 20s.

The wind has been quite light when compared with the past few days.
The average speed for the day has been around 12mph so far, however
it’s been less than 10mph since the late morning hours.

Visibility is in the process of decreasing as we gradually increase
the moisture content of the atmosphere. We started the day seeing
70 miles early this morning, but it has since decreased to around 60
miles.

The high so far today is 52F, 5 degrees above the normal max of 47F.
The low since midnight is 31F, equal to the normal low of 31F.

Here are Thanksgiving stats for Blue Hill as compiled by our Chief
Scientist Mike Iacono…
