CLEAR SKIES, BUT WINDY AND COLD AS WE NEAR THE END OF MARCH…
Skies have been clear all day with only a few stratocumulus
floating by at times during the morning hours. An arctic
air mass rushed into the region overnight following the
passage of a cold front. The dew point has dipped into the
single digits early this afternoon!
Temperatures started the day off in the mid to upper 20s,
and had only rebounded to the upper 30s early this afternoon.
This is of course about 10 degrees below the expected high
for today’s date.
The wind has been quite busy with the average speed around
17mph to this point. Frequent gusts over 30mph has been
occurring all day. As such wind chills have been in the
upper 20s to the low 30s.
Visibility has been excellent with views of 70-80 miles today.
The high temperature so far today is 39F, which is 10 degrees
below the normal maximum temperature for today of 49F. The low
since midnight so far is 27F, which is 4 degrees below our
normal minimum temperature of 31F.
