CLOUDS THINNING TO ALLOW FOR FILTERED SUNSHINE WITH SEASONABLE
TEMPERATURES….
Clouds lingered this morning as a weak weather system moved through
overnight. A band of snow developed with the bulk of the the snow
falling just to the north of the Hill, however we did manage to get
a coating of snow here on the summit.
Clouds have thinned out by the late morning hours with mainly high
thin cirrus clouds covering the sky allowing for filtered sun into
early this afternoon. However, increasing amounts of stratocumulus
are moving in from off the ocean this afternoon.
Temperatures are once again close to seasonal values in the mid
40s today. The dew point, which started the day in the upper 20s,
had decreased to the low to mid 20s for a time before rising
once again toward 30F early this afternoon.
Winds have been steady, but on the lighter side out of the east-
southeast. The average speed for the day so far is around 8mph.
The peak gust for the day occurred just before 9:30am this morning
with a value of 23mph.
Visibility has been decent all day with a view of around 70 miles
most of the day, but slipping to around 60 miles by the 1pm
observation.
The maximum temperature for today is 46F degrees, which is 3 degrees
above the normal high of 43F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 32F degrees, which is 6 degrees above the normal low of 26F.
