ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES MAKE AN APPEARANCE
FOR THE FIRST DAY OF METEOROLOGICAL SUMMER….

Skies have been impacted by a smoke layer from
the wildfires in Nova Scotia today, creating low
visibility and hazy conditions. The skies have
remained clear with a couple cumulus popping up
throughout the day only to disperse soon after.
In the afternoon, cirrus clouds were observed in
the SSE-S directions.

Temperatures quickly climbed this morning from the
low 60s to the upper 80s this afternoon. We could
possibly reach the record high set in 1937 and 2013
of 90F. Humidity levels have continuously dropped
throughout the day, though the dew point has been
in the mid to upper 50s, making for a very summery
feel.

The wind has remained light today, with an average
speed of about 9 mph. Winds have been variable
throughout most of the day, with a slight breeze
from the SSW.

As previously mentioned, the visibility has been
greatly reduced due to the wildfires from Nova
Scotia. Visibility started out this morning around
12 miles and cleared as the day progressed to around
20 miles this afternoon.

The maximum temperature so far today is 88F, which
is 17F degrees above the normal high of 71F. The
minimum temperature so far since midnight is 56F,
which is 3 degrees above the normal low of 53F.
