WARM AND HUMID FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY….

Happy Independence Day! Weather conditions have been pleasant
enough so far for any outdoor activities. With a southwest flow,
the dew point has been on the rise, and it is now quite sticky out
there. Still, there has been a fair amount of sunshine despite the
mid and high level clouds, and we have remained mostly dry to this
point, aside from a few brief showers that came through mid-morning.

The temperature began the day in the low 60s, and we have managed to
reach the low 80s by early afternoon, a touch above normal for early July.
The dew point began in the low 60s and has climbed to the upper 60s, creating
the sticky feel.

The winds have been steady, gusting frequently in the 15-20mph range. The
average speed is around 14mph. The peak gust took place just before 6am this
morning, with a value of 28mph out of the south-southwest.

The visibility has been dropping as the air mass moistens, falling from
a maximum of 60 miles this morning to only 30 miles by the afternoon.

The maximum temperature so far today is 83F, which is 2 degrees
above the normal high of 81F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 62F, which is 1 degree below the normal low of 63F.
