HEAT AND HUMIDITY BUILDS UNDER MAINLY SUNNY SKIES….

We’ve seen a good deal of sunshine today with mainly high thin
cirrus floating by all add, being accompanied by diurnal cumulus
by early this afternoon. Warmer and much more humid air is
advecting into the area on a gusty southwest breeze.

Temperatures have reached the mid 80s with the dew point rising
from the low to mid 60s early this morning to the upper 60s by
early this afternoon. As such it feels much more humid today than
it did the past couple of days. Heat index values did reach the
low 90s for a time today, but have been mainly in the upper 80s.

The wind has been steady today mainly out of the southwest. The
average speed for the day so far is around 14mph. Gusts have been
frequently in the 20-25mph range today, with a peak of 29mph
occurring just before 7:30am this morning.

Visibility has been decreasing as the day goes, due to the
increasing humidity levels. The view was around 50 miles early
this morning, but has lowered to a hazy 30 miles by early this
afternoon.

The maximum temperature so far today is 87F degrees, which is 5
degrees above the normal high of 82F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 63F degrees, which is 1 degree below the normal low
of 64F.
