DAY 3 OF THE HEAT WAVE IS TROPICAL-FEELING WITH
WIND PICKING UP IN THE AFTERNOON HOURS….

We observed limited visibility on this hot summer’s day,
with only 30 miles being seen due to hazy conditions. Weather
conditions are hot and uncomfortable with dew points climbing
into the mid 70’s as temperatures climb into the mid 90’s.
We have a warm southerly breeze at about 20 mph, with a
max gust so far today of 32 mph.

The yearly rain deficit is now almost -8.50 inches! Most
communities around and north of Boston are under severe
drought status!

There is a heat advisory out for most of the Boston area,
as this mixture of heat and moisture do not provide the
safest conditions for many outdoor activities.

The high so far today is 92F, which is 10 degrees above the
normal maximum of 82F. The record for this calendar date is
100F, set in 1977. The low since midnight is 71F, which
is 7 degrees above the normal minimum of 64F.
