A MUCH COOLER START TO JULY AFTER A RECORD-BREAKING JUNE….
Following the thunderstorms last night, we were able to pick
up 0.54 inches of rainfall. This leaves the June precipitation
deficit at 1.59 inches. The yearly deficit is still over 3.5
inches.
Today feels much cooler than days prior, and the heat wave
has officially ended. Skies are mostly cloudy with some
spot showers seen to the north and west. Visibility is still
limited to 40 miles at best.
We did officially match a record high for yesterday with 94F,
which was seen almost 60 years ago in 1964!
The high temperature of 80F today is a degree above the
normal maximum of 79F. The low temperature so far today is
69F, which is 8 degrees above the normal minimum of 61F.
Here are the final temperature rankings for June 2021. Last month
was the first June to ever average as high as 70F, and the previous
record was surpassed by 1.3 deg F, which is a very large jump for a
monthly record.
BHO Warmest June 24-Hour Adjusted Mean Temperature, deg F (1885-2021):
1) 70.0 in 2021
2) 68.7 in 1999
3) 68.5 in 2001
4) 68.3 in 1925
68.3 in 1930
6) 68.2 in 1994
7) 68.0 in 1943
BHO Warmest June Average Maximum Temperature, deg F (1885-2021):
1) 80.9 in 2021
2) 80.4 in 1930
3) 80.3 in 1949
4) 79.5 in 1957
79.5 in 1976
BHO Warmest June Average Minimum Temperature, deg F (1885-2021):
1) 60.4 in 2021
2) 59.9 in 1925
3) 59.8 in 2001
4) 59.7 in 1999
5) 59.5 in 2008
Six 90-degree days ties with 1997 for the most in June, and two heat waves
is a new record, since this has never happened before in June at BHO.
