BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2024
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)
SUNRISE: 0641E
SUNSET:  1716E

SUNSHINE THE FIRST HALF OF THE DAY, BUT CLOUDS QUICKLY ADVANCE
AFTER NOON….

It was a brilliant, but cold start to the day with wall to wall
sunshine and temperatures starting off in the upper teens. The
sun was with us through the noon hour before thickening high
clouds overspread the area, greatly filtering it.

Temperatures have reached the mid 30s, so all in all not a bad
day as readings are very close to normal levels for this time of
year. The dew point is quite low today with readings starting the
day in the upper single digits, then recovering a bit to the low
teens during the mid-late morning hours. But it has dropped again
into the upper single digits by the 1pm observation.

The wind is quite a bit lighter than yesterday with an average
speed so far around 13mph. The wind has been pretty steady out
of the northwest to west-northwest. The peak gust so far for the
day occurred just after 1am with a value of 31mph.

Visibility has been exceptional today, holding at around 80 miles
all day!

The maximum temperature so far today is 35F degrees, which is 2
degrees below the normal high of 37F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 18F degrees, which is 1 degree below the normal
low of 19F.
