STORMY TODAY ON BLUE HILL WITH NOR’EASTER-LIKE CONDITIONS….

Rain began falling between 5-6pm yesterday evening, and has
continued at varying intensities right into early this afternoon.
A gusty northeast wind is making it quite raw out there driving
the rain in a chilly air mass. Total rainfall so far from this
event is 0.62 inches.

Temperatures have been stuck in the low 40s all day thanks to
the rain and gusty wind off the ocean.

As mentioned, the wind has been busy today. Frequent gusts of
30-40mph have been occurring since the mid morning hours. The
average speed for the day is around 14mph. The peak gust so far
today is 39mph, which occurred around 11:30am, and again just
before the 1pm observation.

Visibility has been limited to around 1/8 of a mile all day as
we’ve been in the clouds.

The maximum temperature so far today is 44F degrees, this is 7
degrees above the normal high of 37F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 41F degrees, this is 19 degrees above the normal low
of 22F.
