BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

THURSDAY, AUGUST 3, 2023
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)
SUNRISE: 0439E
SUNSET:  1902E

A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS WITH WARM TEMPERATURES AND STILL
TOLERABLE HUMIDITY LEVELS…

Sunshine filtered by some high cloudiness, and some wildfire
smoke, has also been occasionally dimmed by passing cumulus
clouds that have developed this afternoon. Despite this, the
temperature has reached the upper 70s here on Blue Hill, with
low 80s being observed across the lower elevations.

The dew point has crept up a bit today, reaching the upper
50s, but this is still tolerable and quite nice for this time
of year.

The wind has been fairly steady out of mainly a southwesterly
direction. The average speed for the day so far is around
10mph, with gusts of around 20mph occurring pretty frequently.

Visibility has been decent all day, starting the day at
around 60 miles, but has decreased to around 50 miles this
afternoon as some wildfire smoke returns to the area.

The maximum temperature so far today is 79F, this is 3 degrees
below the normal high of 82F. The minimum temperature today is
59F, which is 5 degrees below the normal low of 64F.
