BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)

BELOW AVERAGE TEMPERATURES AND OVERCAST SKIES CONTINUE ON
THE GREAT BLUE HILL…
This morning before the first observation we had some fog that
burned off with the rising sunshine. Still, the sky was mostly
cloudy and as the day progressed we had increasing cloudiness
and overcast skies for the remainder of the afternoon.
Due to the continued cloud cover and the onshore flow we are
still experiencing below average temperatures for another day.
The dew points have been holding steady in the low 60’s, which
would normally not feel so comfortable if it weren’t for the
lower temperatures.
The wind has been very light, generally coming from the ESE and
then from the ENE and E with an average of just under 5mph. Our
highest gust so far for the day is only about 14mph which occurred
shortly before 11:30am.
Due to the lower clouds this morning, we had about 30 miles of
visibility and we improved slightly to 40-50 miles later during
the day.
The maximum temperature so far today has been 70F, which is
10 degrees below the normal high for today of 80F. The minimum
temperature since midnight is 62F, which is 1 degree below
the normal low of 63F.
