OVERCAST AND CHILLY TODAY WITH RAIN SHOWERS DEVELOPING….
Today has featured cloudy skies with much cooler temperatures
than we’ve seen recently. Light rain showers moved into the
area during the mid morning hours, and has continued off and
on since. 0.02″ of rain was measured between 7am-1pm today.
Temperatures are on the cool side, and are actually 10-15
degrees below normal for the date. Readings have been held in
the 40s all day. With the onshore breeze and wet conditions,
it definitely feels raw out there today.
The wind hasn’t been all that strong today, but it’s been steady
enough to add a decided chill to the air. It’s been mainly out
of the east today, averaging at around 10mph. The peak gust so
far is 26mph, which occurred just before 4:30am.
Visibility started the day at around 60 miles, but became
limited due to the rain showers by mid morning. It has been
generally under 30 miles since that time.
The maximum temperature so far today is 47F degrees, which is
11 degrees below the normal high of 58F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 40F degrees, which is 1 degree above the
normal low of 39F.
