EARLY MORNING RAIN DRYING OUT TO ANOTHER MILD DAY….
During the early morning hours we had a brief period of rain
which totaled 0.05″. The rain made for a soggy ground with
overcast skies and thin fog throughout the area. By the mid
morning the skies cleared and we had mostly sunny skies and
another warm, summer-like afternoon.
As mentioned, temperatures have been on the above average side
once again, with us reaching 80F for a third day in a row. Dew
points have also remained in the 60’s which has really made it
feel like we are in the throws of summer. The slight breeze
from the southwest has only amplified the summer feel, bringing
in warm, moist air to the region.
The wind has been mostly out of the west-southwest throughout
the day, with an average of about 9 mph. The peak gust for the
day so far is around 20mph, which occurred just before noon.
Visibility has remained at around 40 miles throughout the day
today. Visibility was impacted by morning fog and then later
by rising dew points.
The maximum temperature so far today is 80F degrees, which is
12 degrees above the normal high of 68F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 63F degrees, which is 12 degrees above the
normal low of 51F.
