A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS WITH SLIGHTLY MORE HUMID AIR….
Today has featured a mix of sun and clouds. The clouds most of this
morning were at the mid level consisting of altocumulus. However,
but late morning and into early this afternoon, cumulus developed
thanks to the surface heating of the day, and even a few rain
showers can be seen off to the west-southwest.
Temperatures are slightly above normal for this time of year,
reaching the upper 70s early this afternoon. Humidity levels are
a bit higher today as we are ahead of a weak shortwave/cold front.
Dew point values have risen from the upper 50s into the low 60s
today.
Winds are on the light side once again, with an average speed of
only around 7mph. The direction has been rather variable so far.
The peak gust occurred just after 12:30am this morning, with a
speed of 15mph.
Visibility has held steady at 40 miles all day, likely limited by
the moisture in the air.
The maximum temperature so far today is 79F degrees, which is 5
degrees above the normal high of 74F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 57F degrees, which is 1 degree above the normal
low of 56F.
