WEATHER MORE TYPICAL OF FALL RETURNS TO THE REGION TODAY…

What a stellar day today weather-wise with clear skies, save for
some passing stratocumulus clouds. Temperatures and dew points
more fitting of fall have returned as well. Just an interesting
side note, today marks the date in which the earliest snow flakes
have been observed here at Blue Hill. There were two occurrences,
in 1988 and 2001, when a trace was recorded.

The temperature dropped into the upper 40s early this morning,
and has only rebounded to the low 60s early this afternoon. The
dew point has gradually decreased as well with readings in the
low to mid 40s, certainly better than the readings in the 60s we
experienced for the last week.

The wind has been gusty today ouf of the west to west-southwest.
The average speed so far has been around 14mph with frequent
gusts over 20mph. The peak gust so far is around 30mph.

Visibility is excellent today with views of 70-80 miles being
seen. Absolutely spectacular compared to the past few days!

The maximum temperature so far today has been 62F, which is 2
degrees below the normal high of 64F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 48F, which is 1 degree above the normal low
of 47F.
