WEEKEND SHOWERS HALT OCTOBER’S DRY START

After 0.27 inch of rain Friday into Saturday, Sunday saw scattered showers
deliver another 0.34 inch before 1:00 P.M. EST and continue into the
afternoon. Low ragged-bottomed cumulus brushed along the summit for most of
the morning, with relatively light winds shifting from the NE to a more
SE tendency ahead of the approaching warm front.

Today’s temperatures have remained steady, hovering around 55F since shortly
after midnight. It looks likely that we will neither reach the
average high (64F) nor the average low (47F), but will come very close
to the day’s overall average of 55F.
