SUNNY SKIES CONTINUE WITH WELL ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES….
Today is another spectacular weekend day, especially for early
October standards. Skies have been clear all day allowing for
an abundance of sunshine. A rather warm air mass is over the
region which had lead to temperatures that are well above normal
for this time of year.
Temperatures started the day in the low 60s (normal low should
be in the upper 40s). Readings quickly ramped up after sunrise
reaching the low 70s by mid morning. We have reached the low
to almost mid 80s by early this afternoon. For reference, the
record high for today is 86F degrees, which was set in 2007.
Dew point values are a bit higher today than yesterday reaching
60F by late this morning and holding at that value into early
this afternoon.
Winds were more active during the wee hours of the morning, but
have since decreased markedly with generally light and variable
conditions for the past several hours. The average speed so far
is around 8mph. The peak gust so far for the day is 16mph, which
occurred just before 4:30am this morning.
Visibility is reduced a bit today by haziness, with 40 miles
being the view all day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 83F degrees, which is
18 degrees above the normal high of 65F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 62F degrees, which is 14 degrees above the
normal low of 48F.
