DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
SUNDAY, MAY 25, 2014
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

LIGHT OVERNIGHT SHOWERS BRING 0.02 INCHES OF NEW RAIN,
HUMIDITY AND CLOUDS REMAIN THIS MORNING.

A brief shower brought 0.02 inches of new rain last evening,
while isolated showers and thunderstorms moved through the evening.
Winds have remained uncharacteristically low, with a completely calm
wind reading during this morning’s 7:00 AM EST observation. Peak gusts
have remained below 20 MPH since Monday the 19th, with no days averaging
above average for wind speed since the 16th.

By mid day today significant cloud development distant to our west
culminated in a massive cumulonimbus forming north of Worcester moving
SSE. The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning
with this cell as its anvil continued to climb and push outward from
the storm’s center. Hail and gusty winds appeared to be likely threats
from this cell.
