BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
SUNDAY, MARCH 24, 2019
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

WIND SPEEDS DROP AND CLOUD COVER DIMINISHES OVER NIGHT,
THEN INCREASE SLIGHTLY IN THE LATE MORNING INTO THE EARLY
AFTERNOON…

Weather today is calmer than the previous two days
at Blue Hill Observatory. Our maximum wind speed for yesterday
was 45 mph WNW at 9:07 A.M., and speeds remained relatively high for
the remainder of the day, frequently gusting over 35 mph. At
both 7 and 10 o’clock EST observations at the observatory today,
the sky remained mostly clear, with a slight increase in cloud
cover from 1/8 to 2/8 of the sky being obscured between these times.
Wind speed also increased slightly gusting above 25 mph occasionally.
At the 1 o’clock EST observation, clouds obscured 5/8 of the sky,
and measured wind speeds continue to gust over 25 mph. However,
these wind speeds and lack of significant weather are a change from
the storm that passed through over the past few days. The maximum
temperature so far today is 54F, 7 degrees above our normal
maximum temperature for today of 47F.
