AFTER SETTING THE NEW SEASONAL SNOWFALL RECORD WITH
145.8 INCHES OF SNOW THIS SEASON, BITTERLY COLD
TEMPERATURES HAVE COME BACK TO THE REGION WITH WINDS
GUSTING ABOVE 60 MPH.
Skies were clear with a few clouds in the distance at the
7 AM EST Observation this morning. Cold temperatures have
returned to the region with lows in the 20’s and high’s
struggling to reach the 30’s today despite sunny conditions.
Winds, which had been very calm yesterday, have increased
rapidly throughout the day with gusts reaching as high as
60 MPH. Snow depth remains at 16 inches on the ground.
Yesterday’s survey of snow depth averaged at 17 inches with
depths that ranged from 12 to 22 inches around the summit.
