ANOTHER UNSEASONABLY WARM DAY WITH AFTERNOON GUSTY CONDITIONS….
This morning was much like yesterday, with impacted visibility and
widespread foggy conditions. Relative humidity also stayed in or near
100% for much of the morning, further impacting visibility. Once the
fog cleared out some and the sun made its appearance, we saw a
dramatic rise in temperature.
Temperatures continue to stay above average, with an overnight “low”
of 44F. High temperatures were slow to rise during the early morning
due to the fog, but have rebounded quickly with the lifting of the
fog.
Winds were on the steady side for much of the day but picked up
quite a bit by the early afternoon with the approaching cold front.
Winds have been predominantly out of the SSW, bringing us warmer
air which is partially why our temperatures have been above normal.
Our average for the day so far is about 17mph and the peak gust of
around 45mph occured at 12:50pm.
Visibility has been impacted for much of the day due to foggy
conditions. The fog had lifted some by late morning, but still left
us with about 30 miles as a maximum visibility by the end of the
observation period.
The maximum temperature for today is 67F degrees, which is 23 degrees
above the normal high of 44F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 44F degrees, which is 17 degrees above the normal low of 27F.
