HEAVY RAIN OVERNIGHT BRINGS OVER 1″ OF WATER, DRIER, BUT MILD
CONDITIONS BEING OBSERVED TODAY…

Just a note; Here at BHO we do not use DST, thus all times within
our discussions will continue to be in EST. We do this for continuity
purposes, as well as to keep our record keeping/reporting simplified.

A quick moving, but potent system moved through the region overnight
and early this morning bringing with it another bout of heavy rainfall
and gusty winds. Rainfall totalled 1.28″, and marks the 3rd 1+ inch
event within the first 10 days of the month. The monthly precipitation
total is now up to 4.33″, a solid 2.76″ above what we’d normally
expect by today’s date.

The rain and drizzle tapered off by 9am this morning, and the clouds
broke soon after. A mix of sun and clouds has been the theme since.

Temperatures have been on the mild side today with readings in the
mid-upper 40s.

The wind became gusty overnight, and has remained that way through
today so far. The average speed so far for the day has been around
18mph. Frequent gusts of 20-30mph have been occurring during the
daylight hours, however gusts over 40mph were observed during the
overnight hours into early this morning. The peak gust so far for
today is 43mph, occurring at around 5am this morning.

Visibility has improved markedly from this morning. We started the
day in dense fog and visibility under 1/4 mile. The view has reached
up to 80 miles by early this afternoon.

The maximum temperature so far today is 49F degrees, which is
7 degrees above the normal high of 42F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 38F degrees, which is 13 degrees above the normal
low of 25F.
