CHILLY UNDER OVERCAST SKIES WITH RAIN SHOWERS….

Today has seen an abundance of cloud cover to this point with
no sunshine being recorded for the day, at least not yet. Rain
showers moved into the area during the mid morning hours and
has continued into early this afternoon. 0.25″ of rain has
been measured since it began early this morning.

The temperature has actually been falling since early this
morning with the low for the day so far occurring just before
the 1pm observation. Readings started the day in the low 60s
and has dropped to the mid 50s by early this afternoon. With
the dew point also in the mid 50s, the air is saturated as one
would expect with rain falling.

Winds are much lighter than yesterday. The peak gust for
yesterday was 48mph occurring just before 4:30pm, however
today the wind has only averaged around 8mph with a peak gust
of 23mph which occurred just before 1:30am this morning.

Visibility peaked at 60 miles early this morning, but has of
course diminished markedly with the rain and fog. It’s been as
low as 1/4 of a mile early this afternoon.

The maximum temperature so far today is 62F degrees, which is
11 degrees below the normal high of 73F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 55F degrees, which is equal to the normal low
of 55F.
