VERY WARM AND HUMID TODAY ON BLUE HILL WITH A MIX OF CLOUDS AND SUN…
It certainly feels like summer today. The perfect beach day that
many have been longing for all month. Early morning stratus and
fog burned off pretty quickly this morning, yielding a mix of sun
and clouds. Once the sun started coming out, temperatures quickly
rose from the upper 60s to the low 80s by late this morning.
Meanwhile the dew point has been hovering around 70F making for
a very sticky day out there. This is the first day so far this
early summer season where we’ve had the dynamic duo of warmth
and high humidity together! I’m not a fan!
The wind has been on the light side, which is definitely not
helping with the sticky feel of the air as there is a lack of
ventilation. The average speed so far for the day is only around
8mph. The peak gust so far occurred way back at midnight of
around 20mph.
Visibility improved from 20 miles early this morning in thin fog
to around 50 miles late this morning and this afternoon, limited
by haziness from the high humidity levels.
The maximum temperature so far today is 84F, this is 5 degrees
above the normal high of 79F. The minimum since midnight is 67F,
which is 6 degrees above the normal low of 61F.
