HAZY HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS RETURN TO BLUE HILL….

Today’s first observation started at an oppressive 65F dew point
which was similar to the dew points we had on Thursday. As the
sun came out and the temperature increased, the dew point climbed
even higher, giving us a heat index value in the mid 90s. It is
very muggy today, so please limit outdoor activities if you can!

Temperatures overnight were above average, just making it to 65F.
After the sunrise and continued high level clouds which afforded
filtered but all day sunshine, the temperature quickly rose. We
were above seasonable by 10am and by the final observation we
reached 91F. Even though it is much warmer today, we are still a
bit from the record of 99F, which was set in 2010.

The wind has been steady out of the southwest, not giving much
of a cool breeze. The average speed for the day so far is around
13mph. The peak gust so far is 26mph, which occurred at 12:15pm.

Visibility has been impacted heavily by the humid air and hazy sky
conditions. 25-30 miles is about all we have been able to see for
much of the day.

The maximum temperature for today is 91F degrees, which is 10
degrees above the normal high of 81F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 65F degrees, which is 2 degrees above the
normal low of 63F.
